About Daumier

Honoré Daumier (1808–1879) spent his career drawing Parisians being very much themselves: lawyers performing, readers disappearing into books, and travelers suffering quietly in railway carriages. Learn more about the dramatic, delightful drawings of Daumier here.

He created approximately 4,000 lithographs for the French satirical press.
